Two Years in the making.
The two books included contain several different, well concealed, and deceptive methods to reveal a thought of word. Each approach is different to confound the 'knowledgeable' spectator... before they can come up with a solution, you move on to a different method that completely obliterates their line of thinking!
The Wicked Book Test uses letter frequency fishing, a rhyme scheme, homonyms, and a diabolical use of the UF Grant "long word" principle as well as several other ingenious concepts, all re-created to bring this book test into the 21st Century!
The books are designed to withstand normal inspection without revealing the secrets adroitly hidden within the pages!
The basic routine contains three effects which can be done with either book. There's a bonus effect which uses both books for a stand-alone routine.
Finally, a third book is included which is a completely different three phase book test. Its cover matches one of the books for the Wicked Book Test exactly, allowing a switch of the books for some very sneaky purposes.
Two instruction books by Dennis Loomis are included. They are among the most complete and thorough instructions ever written.

Dennis Loomis has been attacked by reputable magicians on forums claiming he copies methods, does not give credit to the original creators etc. for which reason some dealers refuse to carry his books. From far away Finland it is difficult to judge whether that is warranted or not. I have at least 10 different book tests, including the universally praised MOABT and all the Becker and Earl book tests. I like The Wicked Book because it has several different tricks built into it and is nice in that you can work with less or more memory/crib requirement. It is not as easy as the lovely but limited Blacks Magic's Christmas Carol but then again does not require as much memorizing as Harvey's Ne Plus Ultra. which, if correctly done, never fails to leave the audience in awe. The Wicked Book Test is not overpriced and does not have the draw back of the Dennis Loomis Dynamite book test and it is rather unlikely that a spec will find anything suspicious in a performance situation. But I would not leave the books with anyone, you cannot do that with most props. In book test reviews it seems much emphasis is put on whether the book is well known, (The Shakespeare Experiment scores best in that respect) The truth is you will never find anyone who is familiar with the Wicked titles as of course they are not real books that have been gimmicked like the Dracula book test. What is very nice though is the fact that they are of different physical size, which gives the spec the illusion of a real free choice. If you want to do your book test with the latest hardcover bestseller everyone has herd of, your best choice is A Word in A Million in which you definitely get the most bang for the least buck and you can even after the show give the book as a souvenir to the spec. But here again, the Wicked Book Test wins if you aim at revealing more than just one word. In magic few tricks have as many approaches to the same basic effect as book tests: revealing something the spec is reading. Dennis Loomis Wicked Book Test may not be the best in every respect but is well worth your consideration.
