I appreciate what Aldo Colombini did with this classic effect-he basically reconfigured it so that a table is no longer necessary. This version has the 'wild card' being placed temporarily into the spectator's hand. The initial count of all cards remains true to the original, and it's a count that must be mastered to the point of smooth ease.
A strong point in this version, is that three cards get openly placed into the breast pocket faceup-while the remainders in hand undergo the wild card change. The transformation of the final three, requires one move that takes half a second and is quite invisible. There are a few other subtleties here that support the illusion, but are far easier I think than pulling off the initial Hamman count-something that I still practice all on it's own. To me, Wild Mix is a welcome enhancement of a very strong trick-for those occasions where no working surface is available. When/if you get this, you may think 'oh-how simple! Why didn't I think of that? Such a clever fellow, that Aldo!'
