Not to get all niggly, but this tape is actually titled,"25 Amazing Magic Tricks with a Svengali Deck", but let's not bog down in that, OK? Hampton Ridge cranked out a bazillion of these types of tapes back in the 90's and they were the perfect up-sell item at a time when loads of people still bought their magic at brick-and-mortar shops.

While the production values (lighting, backgrounds etc.) may not totally be Oscar-worthy, everything works in a solid, utilitarian way. Loads of little effects and ideas are included, and I was hit pretty hard with a little bit using a napkin and a knife to locate the spectator's card. It's funny how these types of videos can open up ideas that you'd never considered....it's so simple, you'll laugh, but it plays well! I also like to take a device, move, concept (or whatever) and just fixate on it for about 3 weeks, figuring out every possible way the thing can be used. If you're like this, you should try to find this little tape....you'll be motivated to blow the dust off your Svengali deck!
