Overview

Often, when it comes to card tricks, there needs to be several cards prearranged on the top or bottom for the trick to work. The difficulty lies in the fact that if you spread the cards face up on the table, the setup will be glaringly obvious. So how does one have the setup, shuffle the cards and show them to be thoroughly mixed and still be able to retain your stock? Addition is one solution.

Effect

The performer produces a deck of cards which are mixed by him and the spectators as well. They are cased for a brief interlude and then removed from the case once more. He then turns to a spectator and asks them to deal two hands of poker, one for the performer and one for themselves. Miraculously, the spectator deals themselves a royal flush in spades. This is just one of the many routines one can perform with Addition.

Method

The method is a gimmicked card box which will allow you to add cards to the deck after it has been mixed. There is no sleight of hand but there will be an inconsistent moment where you will have to re-case the cards after the shuffle. Once re-cased and taken out again there will be the needed cards on top. A bit of practice on how to add the cards is necessary in order to make this appear natural. Naturalness is the key to this gimmick. You would have to have a sensible reason to put the cards back into the case and take them out again. One might feign deciding to do a different trick instead such as a packet trick and then follow up on the trick using the full deck.

Product Quality

The card box is a gimmicked card box which will allow you to add up to 13 cards to the deck. The box is a Bicycle card box so there are no quality issues there. With simple awareness of how to handle the box, display it and remove the cards all can be done looking like there is nothing amiss. The instructional video is 13 minutes long and is very basic. It covers the handling of the box and two simple tricks. I would count on finding other sources if you want to expand on these ideas.

Ad Copy Integrity

The ad copy is accurate and explains what you get in the most basic terms. If yo aren’t looking for more than just a way to deliver extra cards to your deck this item would suit your purpose just fine. If you are willing to spend nearly double for the same kind of effect and want multiple performance options then there are a couple of other choices that will give you that.
