In this version, You display a SOLID glass door and take your audience to the FIFTH DIMENSION! You go into the future, the past and the present ALL AT THE SAME TIME! You take a playing card and place it in the glass door, next you take a pen or pencil and shove it through the CARD AND GLASS DOOR! You then take the card out of the glass door and show the card has been punctured yet the glass door has not been damaged in any way! EVERYTHING can be inspected BEFORE AND AFTER the trick!

Overview

This is a classic time tested effect great for someone getting in magic or a gift for birthdays, special occasions or even a give away for the birthday child when performing at their party. When I first read the description and then received this, I really never put 2 and 2 together to realize that this was the same ‘card frame’ I had when I was relatively new to magic. This is certainly not a dis as I was pleasantly surprised because I always loved performing this one.

The video tutorial is very well done, easy to follow and teaches some really great patter on how to perform and present this minor miracle.

Method

The Frame does all the work for you. All you need to do is slide your business card, a playing card they just chose (or you just did a trick with this card with them) into the Frame, push a pencil/pen through the card and then remove it showing that there is no hole in the glass. The window and playing card, business card or whatever you use can be handed out for examination.

Product Quality

The Frame is very well made and will endure many, many performances. Yes, it is all made out of plastic so a certain amount of care should be taken with it and avoid dropping it as it may break (thank you Mr. Obvious).

Ad Copy Integrity

It is exactly as described and advertised. For a very small investment, you will own a great illusion that is perfect for strolling, table hopping and small parlor shows.

Suggestions

This is a great marketing tool to give out your business card - with the hole in it. Every time your spectator looks at your card with the hole, they will certainly remember you and the trick you did for them.

Overview

The Fifth Dimension by Apprentice Magic recreates a vintage effect that originated in 1938 by a fellow named Ludwig Krug. Although the original was
made in brass and glass the effect is still the same. Being that The Fifth Dimension is made in plastic, do not let that fact deter you from trying this classic out.

Effect

A plastic frame is handed to a spectator(s) to inspect. It is what it appears, a frame of plastic with a solid clear plastic window inside. The frame has no openings nor does the window. The performer starts talking about our multi-dimensional world and perhaps we can move from one dimension to another. To demonstrate he takes a pen and shows that the frame and “glass” is 100% solid. He then places a card inside the frame, secures it and instantly penetrates the card with the pen through the frame and window as well. The pen is removed, the card has been pierced but the frame and “glass” is shown to be completely intact.

Method

Naturally the frame is designed to aid in the effect. The construction of the frame is very clever and no one can discover the secret unless they totally destroy the frame. The playing card (or business card) helps initiate the mechanics and must be used
