THE GHOST is a stunningly visual magic trick and is extremely easy to perform!

EFFECT:

In this version, you show two yellow rings (the walls of a haunted house) and a round disk (the roof).

You place a coin on the black mat (included) and stack the two rings around the coin as well as cover everything with the disk, making a "Haunted House"! You ask the ghost to go into the house and take the coin away! Next, you lift the "roof" off of the rings and show the coin has completely VANISHED!

Lastly, you place the disk back on the rings and invite the ghost to return the coin. You lift the rings and the disk and show the coin has magically RETURNED!

Overview

The Ghost is one of the first tricks that I learned as a novice when I was still bouncing around the halls of my elementary school. Don't take that to mean that this trick will only fool kids. I just performed this for my wife and she thought it was a good trick.

Back in the day when I constructed tricks from magic books, I did not know that this was called "The Ghost" or that years later it would be remade and named that.

This is a trick for $8.95 and it is clever and fun and as easy to do as easy gets.

Effect

The performer shows a small black mat, two yellow rings and a cardboard circle that can cover the rings. The spectator or performer drops a coin on the mat inside on of the rings. Then he covers it with either the other ring (or not) and then the paper circle. The small tower can be moved and the coin in missing. When the paper is removed, the coin is in the ring on the mat. Then, the coin is placed on the matter and the rings and the paper circle are put on top of the coin and without moving the rings, the coin disappears. It reappears whenever the performe wants to make it appear.

Simple, direct and fooling.

Method

The method uses human assumption and more than that I will not say. It is so clever and so easy and I wonder who first came up with the trick. You may not be able to spot it, but once you know it you will laugh.

Overview

Performing The Ghost by Apprentice Magic may just lift your spirits after seeing your audience react. The Ghost is based on a principle of magic discovered by accident in 1885. It has been utilized in magic ever since. In fact, this principle is a major element in performances by award winning magicians in Las Vegas, Broadway and Americas’ Got Talent.

Effect

The performer places a small black mat on the table. He also has two rings and a paper disc with a question mark printed on it. On the mat he places a small coin, let’s say a quarter. He weaves a tale of his imaginary friend that like to play tricks on him. His ghost friend likes to take things. He then takes the two rings with the paper disc between them and covers the coin. When he lifts the top ring and disc the quarter is gone. Placing them back onto the remaining disc, he then lifts all three items as one and the coin reappears. This can be played up with any story one can think of.

Method

The method is the use of a very familiar technique in magic that will make almost any object seems to disappear. This technique is also used in larger props such as Circle / Square and in some of the most memorable magic performances ever seen on TV. The trick is self-working which will allow you to focus on what is really important which is, presentation.

Product Quality

What you receive are two plastic rings, one of which is prepared in a manner to make the trick work. Also included is a small black felt mat which must be used and a small cardboard disc with a question mark printed on it. You will have to provide your own coin. In other cheap versions of this trick you would probably get typed instructions on a miniscule piece of paper that you may be able to understand. Final Thoughts

There is a version of this trick which sells for close to $100 and it is basically the same thing with nicer props. Once you discover the method you can make yourself a set with a higher quality set of rings.
