Departure was first released in 2008 and has been performed thousands of times. A lot of time was put into redesigning this new and improved version. All new features were added AND made it as tough as a battleship. Plus! All this was achieved while keeping the price the same ;-)
Here's a comprehensive list of the new features and improvements: Smaller Housing - takes up even less space on your keychain. Plus - added some handsome lock icons to give it an even more realistic look. Longer Cable - increased it from 18" to 24". The quality of this prop is excellent! The line is durable steel. The ring is loaded to a carabiner with ease. The unit looks like a car key fob. It is pretty small, so it isn’t bulky on your key chain and it is more inconspicuous.
The instruction is excellent. Not only does he teach the ring to keychain handling, he teaches a couple effects to perform before departure.
CONS
You will need to carry this on your keychain. That may not be a problem for some, but others may find their keychain is already too bulky.

This ring flight effect is well worth the $30 price tag, especially when compared to many others on the market. This new and improved version has a longer pull and if you are considering a foray into the right flight market, this is the one you should buy, especially if you want to have some funds left over.
The promotional video accurately depicts the illusion, despite being shortened by edits. The instructional video, which is a password protected internet video, is excellent and teaches a few different and impressive routines. The ring is easily loaded on the Carabiner clip.
I would not pass out the key fob for inspection, because there is no locking mechanism on the cord and the fob, while it will pass casual visual inspection, it would not pass a close hand held inspection by an overly inquisitive spectator.
The manufacturer's description indicates that this trick is whisper silent, but if performed in a very quiet room, the retraction noise is capable of being heard. However, this could be covered up by patter and discussion with spectators.
