REVIEW
This is my first mylovelyassistant review. As a fan of all sorts of magic, I will be writing reviews of my opinion of the product and my opinion of the strength of the magic effects or routines, not just a review of how true they are to the ad copy. I also want to give a review of the ease of reset where applicable, and finally, as a bonus, I will share a unique routine or way of using the product.
This is a fantastic utility device! I love that it looks like just an ordinary writing pad. In fact, it IS just an ordinary writing pad. The DVD instructions are excellent and when used as instructed, the peek is very easy.
RESET
The reset is VERY easy. This product is perfect for amateur and pro alike.
BONUS
I use this utility device in a routine that is fun and very entertaining.
MURDER MYSTERY
SETUP
As you need is the spypad and a pen.
PERFORMANCE
Introduce the routine:
"We’re going to play a little game of … murder mystery! I’m going to need a couple shady characters to play the role of murdering accomplices. How about you and you? Thanks. Come on up. Give them a hand…"
Place two chairs on stage, back to back, so the participants have their side to the audience. Take the Spypad and write the numbers “1”, “2”, and “3” down the page. Explain to the two participants that they have been brought in for questioning. Hand the Spypad and pen to one of the participants, turn your back to them, and ask them to write down made up answers to three questions:
1. “You, sir are a suspect for murder. What is your name?”
2. “What room of the mansion were you in at the time of the murder?”
3. “What was the murder weapon?”
You then ask them to pretend like two of their answers are correct and one is a lie. Ask them to circle the answer that is a lie. Have them remove the page and hand you the pad and pen. While your back is turned, have the first suspect, I mean participant, hand the slip of paper to the second suspect,... er participant.
You now move over to the second participant and with your back to them, you ask them to read the answers to the three questions. They are to read any un-circled answers as written and to make up a different answer for the circled answer.
You can get the audience involved in “voting” for which answer is the lie. In the end, you reveal the lie and the actual answer.
The beauty of this routine is it has a lot of audience interaction and you can really have a lot of fun with the participants and the audience.
