Overview

If the title F****** Coins hasn’t either peaked your interest or turned you off (as it had me) this is one left for the coin worker that has explored just about every other coin book, DVD and download out there and still cannot feed his insatiable desire for more. Performed by two French magicians, there are no verbal explanations and everything is done to some annoying, repetitive music as most of these “international” type of DVDs typically is.

Effect

Numerous coin effects are performed and “explained” on this DVD set. The handling of said coins is excellent but there are other easy to obtain props used as well. The settings vary from stand-up coin work to table coin work and this is not for the beginner or intermediate skilled coin worker. These are best pursued by the most highly skilled.

Method

The methods used are very difficult sleight of hand and through the use of coin gimmicks most dedicated coin workers would have. Count on days if not weeks of practice to get most of these down pat.

Product Quality

If this was presented with verbal explanations, it would be a great DVD for those pushing the envelope on their coin work. I personally find these “international” type of DVDs extremely difficult to follow. Obviously, with a verbal explanation there is some nuances that may be missed. With that said, I find these difficult to follow because they tend to do a move over and over again and it is not clear whether they are doing it to clarify the move or you are supposed to do it repetitively as part of the routine. For me, watching these are incredibly tedious.

Ad Copy Integrity

The ad copy says all that is on the DVD but leaves out two very important point which are that there is no verbal instruction and that this is for extremely skilled coin worker.

This is probably my favorite coin magic DVD set to come along in my entire time I’ve been an official reviewer here!

There are things for all skill levels. Crazy hard moves for the sleight enthusiast, and solid, reliable stuff for the professional. Full length routines, to single moves and subtleties. This goes across the spectrum.

I did not love everything, but I loved more than enough to get me excited to be practicing, and knowing I WILL be using it in my professional work!

My favorite thing on here is probably a shadow coins routine that looks like pure magic. On video, it looks like a camera trick!

Although most of the routines are done silently on the DVD, there is a slight language barrier in the translation, even on the DVD cover. However, the cover also lets you know which coin gimmicks to have in order to do many of these routines, a very helpful thing to know!

It’s simple, if you do amateur or professional coin work, you will find something of value on these DVDs.
