Andrew Mayne presents his innovative technique for making impossible and unwieldy objects appear from impossible places.
Bowling Ball - An updated handling on Andrew's Bowling Ball from Shopping Bag effect that makes a great show opener or closer. Includes Andrew's new handling and technique that makes this a portable, practical illusion you'll want to make a part of your show.
Brick - Make a heavy brick appear from an empty lunch bag and drop it literally at your audience's feet. This never-seen-before effect allows you to create a huge impact up close or onstage when you produce a real brick under the most challenging conditions.
Fish Bowl - Make a fish bowl appear complete with real fish! Use it as part of an Aerial Fishing routine or use the bowl to produce giveaway items or anything else you want.
Home Brew - This is Andrew's almost impromptu method for making a hot cup of coffee appear. It makes a great ice break or fun effect to do at the coffee house.
Freefall is an easy to perform effect that's almost impromptu in its simplicity. You can use it onstage with a bowling ball or up close with a brick you can leave as a souvenir. It's got multiple applications including one that's right for your show.
Running Time: Approximately 20 minutes

Freefall by Andrew Mayne is a wonderfully simple effect that is easy to do and prepare. This is a production of just about anything from a seemingly empty paper bag. It is probably best performed on stage or in a parlor setting although a close up version is taught as well. Angle wise you're good for almost 180 degrees.
I purchased the DVD because I am a big fan of Kevin James' Bowlarama and I love the impact of a bowling ball production at the beginning or ending of an act. I was able to build the gimmicks with objects around the house in less than 5 minutes so its construction was very easy. I have begun to use it in my stand-up performances with a lot of success.
One of the things that I appreciated was how Andrew touched on preparation, transportation and the set up involved. This added a level of practicality to the trick that I really felt was helpful. He also covered a handful of other objects and how to produce them with different types of bags. He goes over productions from lunch bags and grocery bags. He also covers producing a bowling ball, brick, a full fish tank, and a cup of coffee. With a little creativity it wouldn't be hard to apply it to other bags, boxes or objects to produce.
For a small price you get a strong piece of magic that is easy to build and easy to perform. This gets my highest recommendation.

Andrew Mayne is quite prolific when it comes to magic ideas, DVDs, and books. This DVD “Freefall” is a update to his bowling ball from grocery bag trick. For a while, this was one of those tricks that not a lot of people knew about; it was an underground hit. As people talked about it, it quickly gained in popularity.
This DVD teaches this trick once again. For those that already are familiar with it, he does add in some more ideas. The brick, Fishbowl, and coffee cup from bag all are nice touches. These are nice additions but somehow, I was not overly excited. I think that producing different items from the bag is nice, but if you look on Youtube.com, you will see some magicians have come up with some very clever routines using this technique. I think had Andrew Mayne gathered up some of these ideas and included them on the DVD, it would have been a much more powerful DVD.
To sum it up: If you are not familiar with the technique, this DVD is well worth the money. If you are familiar with the method . . . it’s hit or miss if you will think this will be well spent dollars.
