This routine is so good, I use it all the time in my own kidshow. Show a pair of socks which are clearly in need of washing. Explain that you will wash them with the aid of your Chinese Washing Machine and a young friend from the audience. Needless to say, before the socks are cleaned, there's tremendous comedy as the socks keep changing. They get chopped up, they shrink into a pair of tiny socks, they blend into one giant red and white sock, they go crazy. And so will the kids with this laugh provoking routine, all built around this big beautiful prop - a Chinese Washing Machine built out of wood, with a noisy crank on top and gimmicks inside to do all the magic. For a finish you can produce candy for all the kids. (Just make sure to get out before the sugar rush kicks in.) Ideal for the kid show performer.
