One-Hand Popover

Aaron Fisher

(Based on 1 review)
It's not there. It's there.

That's how quickly, amazingly, and impossibly a card pops out of the deck with Aaron Fisher's powerful new sleight, One-hand Popover. Based on J.K. Hartman's Popover, this new revelation is the basis for a wide variety of visually stunning card illusions, from Ace productions to transpositions to card stabs - all made more remarkable because you're holding the deck with just one hand.

First taught in The Paper Engine, Aaron's acclaimed book on advanced card technique, One-Hand Popover is now part of Aaron's Personal Training Series on DVD, where you can learn every nuance of this move - from exact finger placement to critical timing issues - as if its creator were sitting right across from you in your living room.

On the One-Hand Popover DVD, you'll find many never before seen, practical uses for this celebrated production. But that's not all. You'll also get:

All the technology that Aaron has developed with this dynamic move in the 10 years since he wrote The Paper Engine. New, different, and more powerful applications? You bet. The seamless direction of Wayne Houchin and Dana Hocking. When these directors collaborate with Aaron Fisher, you know you're getting the very finest teaching available in magic today, combined with the very best direction available in the magic instructional market. The result is a teaching tool unlike any other.

Even if you're scared of "advanced" sleight of hand, Aaron will guide you through every step of the learning process, ensuring that you'll not only learn the One-Hand Popover, you'll master it - and in far less time than you ever thought possible. One-Hand Popover

Aaron Fisher has created a name for himself among old school professionals, teen hobbyists, and everyone in between. I’ve seen some of his other DVD projects, and when I had the opportunity to review this one, I jumped on the chance.

Fisher is among an elite group of magicians that offer great ideas that are original, useful, and presented in the best possible way. Everything is fantastic, from the DVD cover, to the menu, to the background music. If you get anything put out by this production company, it seems to be a given that it’s going to be a ‘five star’ level product.

Enough about how cool the DVD is. Let’s focus on the move itself. It’s part flourish, part sleight, and completely cool. The move has some great possibilities, and creates some really surprising moments that you can add to your card magic. The move isn’t something you’ll get on the first shot. You’ll have to work on it. If you put the work in, you’ll have plenty of benefits to enjoy. This isn’t just a move to practice for you and your magic buddies. This is something you can use in your regular work.

Fisher is a fantastic teacher of sleight of hand. He’s got charm, he’s got chops, and he knows how to teach. He takes you by the hand as if you are a total beginner, and yet he doesn’t talk down to you at any point. If you can’t learn from him, get out of magic. There are lots of Star Wars Action Figures to collect.

This DVD was a magic reviewers dream. If you are into card magic, this should be in your collection. Period.
