OK....I was only going to give this one 3 stars, but I decided to bump it up 1/2 star for the simple reason that there's some pretty great sleights taught on this video.
First, when you review something like a downloadable video like this.....you're really reviewing two things.....the video itself (meaning the basic mechanics of how the person used the medium) AS WELL AS the content of the video. For the price, it was a pretty good investment.
In my opinion, this gentleman really needs to get more professional about camera angles, editing etc. I think he needs to get more input from others......there is just something EXTREMELY rushed-out-the-door about his videos. His videos consistently scream, "I filmed this in my kitchen before running errands last Saturday."
Be aware that the performance video found on his web site IS NOT included in this video......a little bit weird. Furthermore, there is a lack of clear flow re: the sequence of segments, as this "trick" is closer to a mini routine, honestly. He really is a good mechanic and I envy his GIANT HANDS that make a poker size deck look like a stack of business cards. Granted, his ending (in the explanation) is actually a bit cooler than the one in performance (and mind you, that's pointed out in the ad copy on his site.....be aware of that). I like videos/books that reference moves using the "official" name from the cannon of magic literature......he does a good job of that.....but again, even how he does that (with dropped in text edits) makes the experience choppy and fragmented.
Overall, I had to watch the video 4 times to really get a feel for each of the segments of the effect and it shouldn't really have to take that much effort for what is essentially an effect aimed at low-level intermediate magicians. I'll concede, however, that beginner, intermediate or pro....this effect is very commercial and if you can be patient enough to stick with the video....you'll add a great effect to your repertoire.
A huge plus is that there are no gaffed cards or IT or anything like that.....you can take a standard deck and set it up in about 3 seconds and you're ready to rock on this one.
And one more thing: Nathan Kranzo has a good voice.....it's just a shame that he doesn't have a good video director in his back pocket.
