Overview

If you have ever wanted to predict a REAL scratch and win lotto ticket for your audience, now you can! Andrew Gerard is giving you an amazingly simple and clever tool to add to your arsenal. You can predict a scratch and win ticket held in a spectator's hand either close up or from across a room! This method is 100% sure fire.

Effect

Take out one or a few unscratched lotto tickets, have then pick one and then ask a spectator to hold the ticket between their hands. Hold your hands above and below theirs and try to "pick up" on the information you are receiving. Grab a pen and paper and write your prediction or received thoughts down then SCRATCH the ticket and GRIN. Show them what you wrote and you were bang on. Your prediction is 100% accurate.

Method

Numerous times after I have told someone that I am a Magician or have been asked what I do, when I tell them, some of the things they ask me are - Can you make me disappear? Can you appear some money? Can you predict the winning lottery numbers? … well now you can do the latter! The scratch and win lotto tickets you use are REAL tickets from whatever State or Province (in Canada) you live in. There are no switches at any time, the tickets are legitimate. The concept is not rocket science but truly ingenious and as the saying goes “why didn’t I think of that?” You can leave the ticket with them as a souvenir if you want.

Product Quality

All I can say here is that what you will receive will allow you to perform everything as described. If you run out of ‘it’ you can certainly order more. Is there anything else you will need other than ‘it’ other than an exactly knife - no. Will it take some preparation time time - yes. A lot of time - not really, depends on the style of ticket you use and how OCD you are.

Ad Copy Integrity

The ad says - No Electronics, No Nail Writers, No Switches, Uses REAL tickets you buy from the corner store! This is exactly true, you will be able to perform exactly what the ad describes. You will receive four pages of instructions and enough gimmicks for at least 20 performances. I really think depending on the ticket you use it will be more than 20. You will be provided with a routine and patter to use but make up your own to fit your personality and presentation style if you so desire. I perform comedy magic and it didn’t take me long to come up with something unique.

Final Thoughts

This can be a reputation maker if you want to really sell it as real mentalism. Why not write down your prediction or thoughts on the back of your business card. This way your spectator will never forget you and the miracle you performed for them. This in my opinion is something a little different, a great buy and a great addition to your repertoire.

Suggestions

Scratch And Grin is great for close-up strolling, restaurant/bar table-hopping, parlor or stage shows and can even be performed impromptu, just keep some tickets in your wallet and you are always ready to go anywhere, anytime.

Andrew Gerard's SCRATCH AND GRIN is a very simple method for predicting the results of a scratch-off lottery ticket. Mr. Gerard offers a short and sweet four-page instruction manual photocopied on black and white paper. His explanation is fine because there's little to clarify there and as Barrie Richardson likes to say, "there are no moving parts."

There are some things you should know. You must prepare the ticket in advance. This means you'll have to come up with a way to introduce the ticket that doesn't appear to be suspicious (and just be aware that someone could produce THEIR unscratched lottery ticket and ask you to do something with that.) Gerard does offer his walk-around presentation and it's a good one.

You also should be aware that for your $45.00, you're only provided with enough gimmicks to do this 20 times or so. After a quick search online, I found 100 of the special somethings for about $20.00.

I feel the effect is fine and the method is stupidly simple. I just hope the intelligences of audiences hasn't been underestimated here. I also feel that $45.00 was a bit pricey for what's provided.
