He takes out a blue deck that has been in his pocket all along and counts through the cards face up - sure enough, there are only 51 and the named card is missing. The card named from the red deck is turned over and it is the missing blue-backed card. The performer explains he was certain that it would be the one named as it was actually the only card in the red deck... He turns the red deck face-up and spreads it - it now consists of 51 blank-faced cards!
No force - the named card is different every time. No R&S and no deck switch - there really are 51 blank-faces in the red deck. No palming is required, Thoughtless is so easy to perform.

THOUGHTLESS is mud. There I said it. Here's what the ad says:

You'll be using two decks. You'll end dirty. You'll be doing a feat of mentalism followed by a feat of magic. To me this is one of those confusing tricks that Vernon would have hated. If you're a magician, your spectators will probably be fooled, but will they be able to tell someone what happened a few hours later? Nope.
To summarize, a participant is given a blue-backed deck to hold. They are then asked to name any card from a face-up red backed deck. A few moments later, the spectator is asked to remove the blue-backed deck and count through it. Yes, that's right, all 51 cards! I don't know about you, but I've tried routines like this. There's nothing more boring than watching someone sort through an entire deck! They discover that their named card is the only one missing. And that's where the routine should stop.
But Mr. Nardi has added a magic kicker that simply rings false. The magician now turns over the red-backed deck to reveal all the faces have now turned blank. This deck cannot be examined, but don't you think every spectator is going to want to see those cards? You betcha.
The ending is the same as Dean Dill's BLIZZARD, but what was so wonderful about that effect is that the face of the cards were never shown. This means, in the spectator's mind, they REALLY DID HAVE ONLY ONE CHOICE. A much better effect in my opinion.
THOUGHTLESS is an impractical mess. If it's too late and you've already purchased this, do yourself a favor and do the first phase only, then stop. Later you can do BLIZZARD as a separate effect and you'll make a much better impression.
