Japanese engineering meets the wine glass production.

Since this is an item from overseas, let's start with the instructions. Everything is provided on a mini-DVD. I'm guessing most of you will have a DVD player or computer that can handle the small format. If not, there's an online version for you to watch.

The motions are acted out with a voiceover giving directions. The narrator isn't a native English speaker, but you shouldn't have any problems understanding what he's saying. If you do, go back to college and bone up on your own English skills...

The quality of the props is excellent! You even have the option of modifying a piece of the holder to meet your own specifications regarding safety and speed of production.

You should note that the glass must remain vertical once it's filled with liquid and inserted into the holder. The seal isn't good enough to keep it from leaking if the glass is laid on its side. This is what you trade for the smoothness of the production.

The one thing I really like is that everything except the glass stays in the coat. There's no need to steal the glass and then steal the cap off under cover of a handkerchief.

The DVD covers several productions, both bare-handed and with a handkerchief.

The setup does take a few seconds. If you're doing this in a strolling situation, you'd need to duck into the back room between performances.
