I watched this and decided to let one of my good friends who loves card routines to review this video for me. So here is his review.

THE CHEAT
Richard Turner Lecture at the Mark DeSuza Theater
By Showdown Creations Inc.

Buying magic videos is sometimes like buying a car from a Buy Here Pay Here Lot; you buy it as is, rust and all and hope is makes it out of the lot. I had heard of Richard Turner, but this was my first opportunity to see his work and I was very excited to see this legend in action. Let me start out by saying, Richard Turner is everything and more than I expected. His skills with the pasteboards are some of the smoothest and most confident I have ever seen in the gambling genre. This is a great video to add to your collection, but not the best to learn Richards Routines. I was disappointed in the quality of the video production. This was filmed live at Mark DeSuza’s theater not a professional studio, so there were some focus and framing issues which put me off to a rough start. It was hard to follow Richards’s routines because of this, but he never really tips his routines in the video anyway. He was very open in the Q and A section and shared some wonderful “tips” that only someone how studied under Vernon could have collected over many years of performing and this for me is worth the price of the video. If you have Richards other videos, I would recommend adding this to your collection just for the interview stories and tips shared on this video. If this is your first experience to Richard, this will leave you excited to buy his other video and learn his techniques in a professional setting and come back to this video to learn the “subtleties” in card cheating. This video is a true diamond in the rough and a gem for the gambling collector. Highly Recommended.
